SUPPORTING NOTTINGHAM BUSINESSES

Our support for businesses is funded by Sir Thomas White’s Loan Charity, which was set up in 1551 for the purpose of sustaining trade in the City of Nottingham.

We provide interest-free loans of £500 to £10,000 to people aged 18 to 40, to assist in the development of a local business. We would be pleased to receive your application, which will be considered by the charity’s trustees, who meet three times a year.

Trustees will consider the nature of the trade or business, any previous business record and financial means. We would also like to receive a business plan. You may be asked to attend an interview to discuss your application and business ideas.

The maximum period of any loan is five years and the borrower must commit to repay it and provide details of two guarantors, who will refund the charity in the event of non payment.

The scheme is open to residents of City of Nottingham and they must have lived in the city for at least two years prior to the application. There is a £25 charge to cover administration costs.
